Default Flyeagle F18F

Hi,

It is finally here Flyeagle has released the F18F. Who's diving for it?

http://www.flyeaglejet.com/f18.html

They released the plane but not the price. Any body knows?

Yeah, I had to do it. I love the F-18F. Base price for everything is about $4k, but they have/had a very special price for the first 10 orders! I got one, but can't tell They will give a quote if you email them.

I can't wait, delivery is 40 days. If the quality is as good as their F-16 this plane will be unbeatable!

Hi

I have been looking for the landing gear but have not find it. I guess with a P160, I can bungee it

It seems the release is not 100% ready.

I sent them an email and got the prices, a bit high as comapred to the other planes they make but a good deal if compare with the rest of the manufactuerers. I recently got a SM F-18E and can't convince the wife for another bird [sm=biggrin.gif]. now if it was in her favorite colors like orange, bronze or yellow there may be a chance.......NOT[sm=lol.gif]

David, post some photos when you get it.

Regards,
Mike

Looking at the pictures of the gear on the website, it looks way to skinny. Especially the nose strut. It does not look scale at all and does not look stout enough to handle a plane of this size and weight.

I checked with James Chen at FlyEagle USA, he said those were the prototype gear; production gear will be stouter. They are waiting for first sets to come back from the machinist and will post picures later.

So this is a bigger plane than Tam's? I have a Tam F18F and I think the wingspan is 65", Flyeagle looks like it is 77"...sounds interesting...

Hey David,

I pulled the trigger also, I hope the gear is as you said going to be a bit more beefy. As a previous post suggest that the pricing is a bit high, the special price for first 10 in my opinion is a smoking deal, for an F18 F that is slightly larger than a yellow twin F18 C, Built and painted, with gear doors and cylinders installed including gear, pipe, cockpit set, and accesories for the low low price of $$$ (you have to email for price), but any ways it is a smoking deal. I have seen an FEJ F16 and it looked really good. If this is close to that quality I will be extremely happy.

I realy like the Fly Eagle quality.

These guys work preety well, but I do not understand why they do not paint the gear in white like other manufacturers. It is much nicer.

I have the F18F from Feibao and the Flyeagle one, is by far a better choice. Mine from Feibao is Diamond Back, so if I sell it, I will go for this one or:

have to wait for another colour scheme.

When will we have a video from flight test?

I have a P160SE, but it looks that this plane can handle a 180 or 200 N.

I ordered one: Diamond Back w/all options—should be less than two months out—no rush though, I’m currently in a slow[sm=lol.gif] process of building their F-16, then moving on to their Rafale.

I have ordered F-18 F in the Diamondback scheme. According to what James told me, this plane will come with the cockpit, missile set, etc. For under $3000, sounds like a good deal. As far as the gear is concerned, I have the Yellow twin F/A 18 with the scale gear. The gear pictured on FEJ website looks to be just as sturdy as what on this plane.

I have two Ram 1000's in a Yellow Twin F-18 (has not been flown), which is smaller than the FEJ model. I would believe that the engine compartment of this plane will be large enough to accept the two engines. My plan is to keep things as simple as possible, so my FEJ 18 will be powered by a single AMT 400.

Hi All

Mine is ordered cant wait, been out of the hobby for a bit due to heavy work commitments and looking forward to flying again. I will be putting a wren 200xl in i think it has 33lb of thrust so should be enough, would love to hear other peoples thoughts on what engine to put in.

Take it easy

According to information supplied, the AMT 400 produces approximately 39lbs of thrust.

I just got an email from James. #1 Diamondback will ship next week. The plane is finished, they are just putting the hardware pack together and completing the instruction manual. Looks like they changed the rudder control to an entirely internal linkage. First photos of the F-18F prototype showed a hatch on each vertical fin for the servo. New instruction manual shows an entirely new, internal mechanism. Looks good!

I will also be installing #1 JetCentral Mammoth into the beast. The Mammoth may not be available, though, till after JetPower.
