HI all, I need to get some feed back on the Pro -Link struts, I"m getting frustrated at replacing the springs, I"m on my second set , this time, so called heavy duty. To me, the springs don"t have enough memory to return to their original length. Ten flights and their sprung
I have them in a Bobcat XL and feel they are way to soft.
Let me know if yours are holding up.

PS, I also have a set on my bandit and the struts are sloppy(the pins are loose and the wheel twists), the second set of Pro- Links for my Bobcat are much tighter, but both Jets, the springs sprung after 10 flights.
Pics tomorrow.

Pete I have a set also, same thing. Also mine are wearing the holes out on both halfs of the struts.I had the new pins sent and I installed them and there the same.May be I put to many flights on them too quick who knows. All I can say is they did not hold up to the sod grass. When they were new they were prety good now
Mine are in a babybommerang.

Same here with the struts on my bandit. Got a new set of the "heavy duty" springs but haven't installed them yet. Have yet to see a set of these struts that didn't have this problem. I have owned 3 sets so far! Still better than breaking gear mounts in my opinion.

Pete,
I am a little confused as I have no record of you purchasing the HD springs for the Bandit / Bobcat struts? You also indicate the HD springs as being shorter however they are identical in length! The HD springs are wound with a heavier gauge wire, no change has been made to the length dimension of these springs?
What is the weight of your Bobcat XL? Since the XL is a built-up airframe, they are quite a bit heavier than the composite versions the gear where designed for.
The spring memory will fade on these struts when the gear are excessively compressed... This typically happens with a heavy arrival or an airframe over-weight for the strut/spring design.
We warranty all Pro-Link struts to be free from slop in the pivot. As Frank has been offered (twice), we are happy to repair or replace any strut set that has developed slop in the pivot at no charge as long as the struts show no signs of abuse. You may also call us to request a free set of our new shouldered pivot bolts which 95% of the time fix the slop issue when installed. Simply return the struts to us for service if you don't wish to replace these shoulder bolts yourself.....
Feel free to contact me with any questions, we stand behind our Pro-Link gear 100%

HI Tod, my first post talks about my Bandit Arf/Jetcat P60, certainly not over weight at 19 lbs.The standard springs lasted less than 10 flights. I replaced them with the heavy duty springs you sent Len Mcintosh in NY. When I compared them to the new set of Bobcat Pro-links struts, from Len, they where just a few mils. shorter, same dia. coil thickness.
Exercising the full travel of these struts such not stretch them.
Pics of the Bobcat with the right side lower because of the sprung spring,

Pete,
My guess is you got the wrong springs! The HD springs are indeed a heavier coil. I'll send you out two pair of the HD springs which should solve your problem. I will also include a set of shoulder bolts for the bandit set to tighten them up...
I assume your flying off some fairly rough field?
Boli,
Lightning struts are under field test now, should have production gear in about a week to 10 days...
