Default FLY EAGLE QUALITY

I am thinking about getting one of FE jets and was wondering what you current owners think about the overall Quality. Are the planes painted in the molds with those nasty seams all over them or are they painted outside the mold with the seams sanded and filled before painting.
Do they seem to be well and strongly constructed
Thanks in advance

Generally, I am happy with the quality of the F-15 we got from Fly Eagle. I'm not sure, but I believe that it is painted outside the mold as there are no really visible seams. The airplane flys great and it is a good value.

That being said, there are some issues with some of the equipment included with the kit and I am working through that to get the plane more reliable by replacing it. See the FEJ F-15 thread for more details...

i have been rather pleased with the quality of the F-16, non advanced version, i have. appears to have been painted after the molding and done well at that. the gear door cylinders could be better, but are rather easily worked on or replaced. their customer service has been great for me. i managed to bust 2 of the little tiny O-rings that are on the air valve plungers, and unable to locate any here locally, Mr. Chin in china sent me 12 new ones already mounted on 6 new plungers for just asking. i would have gladly paid 50 bucks for just 1/2 dozen O-rings. i have 5 plungers with O-rings left, if anyone else manages to dumb up theirs<G>.

I have their Rafale and I am very impressed. I know I'll get lambasted for saying this, but the parts fit of the rafale was better by far than any of the BVM stuff I've had (one maverick, one F16, one Super Bandit, and one Kingcat). The lack of instructions is the only real complaint I could have, but it wasn't really a big deal, all the parts fit in one particular spot and it wasn't that tough to figure out where they go. The gear door cylinders do leak but I managed to get them all working on my jet. I haven't flown it yet (for no reason other than lack of time) but bang for the buck it's the best jet I've ever put together. If it flies as good as it looks and went together it will probably be the best jet I've ever owned. All up with radio and engine I have just under $3800 in my Rafale, that includes shipping from china!
Oh, they are definitely painted out of the mold, no seams anywhere, paint is decent, certainly not perfect, but for the money I'm more than happy.

I am also VERY happy with my FLY eagle F-16

Paint job is amazing

All the glue joints actually had glue in them and it stuck WOW

The formers are STRONG

The landing gear had some leaks but its AMAZING quality and works relly well.

Nothing is flimsy or weak, its built strong a bit heaver than most but that's because the dosn't skimp on the build.

so far its build / overall quality is better than my 2 Comp ARF Euros , rookie II , roo, FB F-5 , F18F ad 2x boomerangs.

LOVE their product.

It sounds as though you are mostly satisfied with their planes. I am wanting the Rafale , or the F-15 and I may buy after you guys have been so helpful. I wonder if they have sorted the door cylinder leaking problem. seems a shame to buy something and start putting replacement parts on it. Thanks so much for taking the time to give your advise and opinions. How does the RAFALE fly and what are you using for power?

Regards

I am currently working on 2 x F16 Advanced and have 2 x L-39's on the way.

Every thing is good and the paint finish is also very well executed.

Excellent service and prompt replies to e-mails.

The main question is - Are they value for money and the answer has to YES.

LGM, how dare you say that FEJ is a better fit than BVM????[>:]

If I wasn't so busy building my BVM arf all the way down here in florida, I'd walk right up to your door and demand that you explain these unrash comments!!!

But, instead,....oh I give up!!!

Its good that there are other companies painting out side the mold.

How are the elevator mechanisms on these jets?

Hi

I have the FEJ F16 and I am very happy with it. The painting is on the outside, so no visible seams. The overall quality is great.

The elevators mechanisms are like this:

See drawing 59 to 61
