I am brand spanking new to jets and I have a question about fuel cell construction with regard to the venting nipple (or brass tube) on the cells themselves. I have two 80 oz. tanks shaped like elongated ovals with the stopper location right in the center at the end of the one side of the tank. My question is this: must I install a venting nipple at the very top of the tank or can I leave the venting line coming out of the rubber stopper in the center of the tank, next to the pick-up line. I will be plumbing the two tanks in series so the first tanks vent will exit the aircraft, the first tanks pick-up will go into the second tank's vent nipple and the second tank's pick-up will go to the UAT, etc. Thanks.

the vent must run on the very top in the tank when model is level
imagin having the vent on the midle...make a draw and imagin fuel up the system.you will never go over the vent and full the tank
cose the fuel will come off the overflow

Mark, you can install a vent fitting at the top of the tank or use the standard installation of bending an internal tub twords the top of the tank and exits fron the middle of the tank. both will work!
