Wondering if anyone has used these power distribution boards, can't seem to find any reviews about them.

Are you affiliated with power box? You seem to promote them everywhere. Power box systems, while good ( I use them myself ) aren't the only unit out there. In this case, Angus is asking about ANOTHER product, I'm sure he's well aware of powerbox

I'm sure that 1) he is NOT a rep, and 2) he's just trying to be helpful by suggesting a well known and tried brand over a no-name one............

If we are on the conspiracy theories.......how do we know that are our friend Angus is not affiliated to 42-percent (Aren't they a rap band?) he could ask a question, just to promote this product? [X(]

In the interest of fairness, there is also a unit made by Weatronic. I have not heard of the 42 % powerboard, so I can't comment.

All the best

Thanks Guys for the replies, Yes I'm building a Skymaster F18, I'm using a Futaba 14MZ 2.4 in it, I'm well aware of the Powerbox Systems(who dropped the ball and were not 100% up to speed with Futaba's 2.4ghz lower voltage signal....now fixed), but recently came across this other product.

Yes, Powerbox has dominated the market due to their quality product, but like Mercedes, BMW and Audi all are great products, so why not 42 percent products.

I was simply wondering if anyone has used them yet.

No I'm not a rep, friend, uncle, or paid spy for 42 Percent products

I simply came across it the other day when I purchased 42% Opto-Kill switch from a local supplier for one of my Gassers

Hangerman....42-percent (Aren't they a rap band?) your 8cents off 50cent is the Rap dude

Cheers everyone

Angus you can also have a look at the Smartfly products, i have been using their PowerExpander Pro in my SM F-86.

[link=http://www.smart-fly.com/Products/Expander/expander.htm]http://www.smart-fly.com/Products/Expander/expander.htm[/link]

Their PowerExpander Eq10 has a lot of the same features as the powerbox at less than 1/2 the cost.

I believe it has more features, you can adjust all 10 channels.

As for the 42% board, the only thing that has me worried is the lack of heat sinks for the voltage regulators. Unless they were removed for the picture. I have not heard of any pine swingers using this board yet.

No conspiracy theories here. I apologize if I offended anyone, I was asking a legitimate question, I asked because I've seen Delgato in other posts (including one of my own) where he's seemingly advertising for powerbox when the post in question doesn't necessarily relate to powerbox. In this thread I wanted to ask, he has them listed in his signature line which is a requirement for a rep, true it doesn't mean he is a rep, I just wanted to clarify is all. The only catalyst in this thread for me to really ask was the way he made his post sound. He could have said "don't be dumb, this is the only unit to use or you'll crash" and it would have read the same as what he posted.
So again, I apologize if I offended anyone, I was just asking a question for clarification......

No heat sink needed for a 1.5 amp Regulator you see in our picture .
The ground plane provides all the heat sink this device needs.
we are know in the giant scale airplane market .
we are also designing a Jet Box we are calling *Blue Jet* to fit neatly inside small jet areas.
All of our power products were designed around the new 2.4 Ghz radios and the lower servo rails they put out.
All the power product talked about before are were designed for FM .
They all have worked out there issues and are fine yet we designed around 2.4 Ghz to address the new standards now in place for their use.
For most jets our box may be a big large in - footprint – Most power expanders are pretty big since they are designed for Giant scale airplanes it’s not normally an issue.
If anyone has a question about our box’s operation I invite you to download the user guide on our web site.
You can also ask a question here.

Ken,
I see on your web site your tag line is "Natural Airplane Enhancement"....[X(]

I see that "Smiling Bob" for Enzyte might be available for hire as a paid spokesman, see story...

I am almost embarrassed i used that tag line but, it is a play on Smiling Bob of course!
Friends all thought it was really funny!
Some hobby shops now get a smile or two while customers look at their peg boards!

Hi

We sell 42% gear in Australia, cant speak for the Jet Scene, but the boards have been performing well in large scale gassers/imac etc. And Ken from 42% is quick to back us up with any support we need. Weve sent out hundreds of the kill switchs now with a very very low failure rate so if thats anything to go by, the boards should be good long term too.

Weve got some good photos of the boards in our webstore in the electronics section that will give you an idea of the size of the BlueBox boards, and the manual can be downloaded at

http://www.dlenginesaustralia.com/do...box8-16-r1.pdf

Like Ken said, no big heat sinks on the board as the only regulator is for the 5v RX power supply. The servos get what ever voltage you input, so regulation for servo power needs to be done using external volt regs at the input to the board. Not a bad way of doing things as you can chose/change the volt reg to suit the application. You can run dual regs, one on each input for redundancy.

We have tested BlueBox with the 14 chan Futaba R6014FS 2.4Ghz 2.7v RX and 5955tg and 7955tg servos and all good too. (I use a Futaba 12FG 2.4 system myself)

Cant wait to see the new board coming from them designed for jets

Bit of a sales pitch I know, but we are that happy with them.

Cheers

Scott
