RE: Jetmart F-14 ready for Maiden Flight
quick question, do the wings sweep back by themselves or are they done by the pilot and how do you deal with the aerodynamic changes that affect an F-14 in different areas of the flight envelope??

Ron, wish you were holding off until this weekend [], good luck with the flight and try to remember all we talked about. She is going to fly great, just be ready for the sink when you start pulling power back. When you do the first wing sweep; be ready to put them back out just in case. It should pitch slight nose down if you don't put in any elevator compensation and don't forget to reduce elevon throw with wings swept back.
Where is the maiden? How much runway do you have?

I love that field. Flew IMAC and Pattern contests there over the past few years.
Please get some photos/video of that plane in flight

Few shots from today as of 13:00 pdt has issues with fuel flow(my words)and were in contact with JetCat. I don't know whether they were going to try after I left( It is HOT & humid & this old man can't take too much sun.) Will be there again(SVF) in the am

Well I think Wayne has got it licked. We did get some suck-ses-full taxiing done at the end of the day. Man was it hot. If we get 2 consistent start and run with no issues the plane will go up. Not before, I don't want it to end up like one of Uncle Joes corn field shots. Speaking of Corn field Kevin had managed to patch that F-18 together. remember this one! Well I had had enough for today so I left the field about 5:00 by 5:30 I got word that the Patched up F-18 went in. That was no surprise. We will try to get some cool pics tomorrow. By the way George if you are going out to Az would love to do some flying with you.

Better safe than sorry Ron. Man, how the heck did he patch that thing up? It was completely blowed up!!! Even if I would have patched it up I still wouldnt have the confidence and ego to fly it, it bit Raffy when he flew the 3 lives F-18 and the wing opened up. Sure sounded awesome though!!

Ian,
I don't know how he patched that thing back together! I think he was displaying his repair skills lots of practice. However it was the same as all the rest looks ok on the surface but no infrastructure, there for, you get the same result almost every time.
