Ron, the problem with the gear is that they retract forward and the take off speeds are so high they can't overcome the air pressure against them. Mine had a UP3 valve, but I didn't have the main doors on, just the nose. I switched it to a BVM valve and used a button valve to close the doors. It still would not retract fully everytime, I actually would have to go vertical and get the airspeed low before they would go up. You will not be able to do that because of the doors, unless you use a button valve that will close the doors once the mains are up. The solution is to use TWO retract valves and TWO button valves; there is just not enough "umph" to work all three gear at the turbine speeds. I was actually going to switch to the two valve method, but I just sold my 14. I think they worked fine as DF b/c of the lower speeds, but not now.
Since you have main doors that are sequenced, you may never get the gear up unless you can keep the doors open for a very long time to give you a chance to get them up.
I'll see you in the A.M., can you give me "general" idea of where the field is or "simple" directions?

Hey Guy I sit here quite green with envy. I'm impressed with your bird, Don't know when or if I'll ever get mine in the air.
