Ok,
I'm looking to be able to make a pass with the engine spooled up good, However I'm not interested in going Mach 10.
Would a 14lb turbine in my SM 1/8th F-16 make that happen? Would there be more drawbacks then assets in a setup like that?
Like I said, Im totally not interested in going very fast at all. I just want to be able to fly at high power settings without breaking the sound barrier. Are there any other things I should be thinking about?
I believe I read somewhere that a conventionally mounted turbine produces slightly less usable thrust than a tail mount, So Im thinking a 14 or so LB engine, Mid mounted...?
Does this make any sense? Any other guys feel/fly this way?
Thanks, Peter

I have the same setup in Tam's F-16 using a P-60SE with smoke. I haven't flown it yet. I would ask Tam about it. I believe you are going to accomplish what you are setting out to do with the P-60 as it will take I higher power setting to keep the same speed. One way to do this is to keep your AOA high. Keep in mind the F-16 flies well with the P-60 and will drink more fuel as a result of the lower thrust at high RPM. It may be hard to accomplish with such a clean aircraft. Hope this helps...Have you watched the videos on Tam's website? This may give you an idea.
