Ram750 Starter atachment ??
Hi all,
I have a Ram750 and just purchased a Jet joe starter to put on it. Only problem is the arms on the starter are too long to attach to the cover and too short and on too much of an angle to atach to the front plate. Does anyone have any pics or suggestions on how they did heis. Where are the starters usually attached to on turbines. the cover or front plate??
I can get some pics up tonight but thought i might see if anyone had some pics to give me an idea
thanks
matty

I have performed this task several times for 750 owners.
You have the conical nut so your only issue remianing is the starter mounting legs and the starter bendix unit itself.
I have to machine off a length of the starter legs to achieve the correct clearance from the starter bendix to the cone nut when activated.
It is important to note that once you replace the compressor nut, you have lost the balance on your rotating assy. as their is no way to insure absolute re-alignment of the compressor to it orginal position.

thanks vampire. I have sent the starter back today to get the smaller one. I dont quite get what you mean when you say the compressor wont be realigned. You stated that all you need to do is machine the legs on the starter. do you have to take it apart further??
I actually notices the cone spinner doesnt spint entirely tru and sems a fraction off centre but I dont imagine you could get this absolutely perfect?
