Would it be wise to buy a used first turbine?
I'm not trying to skimp out, It's just that I see alot of P-70's at good prices, With relatively low run times (in the 2-5 hr range).
Just curious.
Thanks, Peter

Good point Bob but let's not forget the $250.00 it costs to do that.
If buying a used or even a New in Box one, you have to factor that into the asking price and see what kind of a deal, if any, you're getting.

thanks!
I still havent decided between a 14 or an 18 pounder.
You mean with jet central you have to pay $250 to become the warranty holder?

Pete, my only recommendation is to buy the jet you like first, and then worry about the turbine.
It would give you MORE TIME to seek for the turbine that would fit your plane.

Pete,
contact Ron Ballard of Wren Usa.. a Super sport will drop right in that baby. I run the SS and I love it. 18lb thrust....customer service is the very best. Do a search on WREN USA... in RCU.. .you will find his phone number...
I had been thinking of building a SM F16 for my SS, so I checked it out.

A lot of guys buy an engine & then realise they would rather be flying bigger (or smaller) models & sell good engines with low hours on them to buy something different. A friend just picked up a Wren 54 for $1000 for just that reason.
A P-70 is a great engine for the thrust range you are looking at. - John.

As was mentioned, used is fine if you know the source. I started with used from someone that I did not know and really wish I had gone new.
