Default Chicago Model Shops

Hi Guys,

I'm in Chicago on vacation and wondered if there were any good model shops worth visiting. I'm sure that I could find a 'tourist site' near it so that I could convince the other half it was by chance that we wondered past the shop on the way

thanks

Hi,

Welcome to Chicago!

Check out my clubs website: www.palosrc.com

There are several hobby stores listed. Check out Al's in Elmhurst (south of O'Hare) or Venture on the north side. My club goes to La Grange most of the time.

Good Luck

John

John,

If you are in the northern suburbs, there is a great shop called Venture Hobbies (847-537-8669). They are just east of the corner of Dundee and Buffalo Grove Roads in Wheeling. There is a guy there named Brian Johnson that is very knowledgeable. He even dabbles in the jets (he has my Ram on his Roo).

Venture Hobbies is a must if you are in Chicago. Good variety of models & equipment.

They are also nice people.

I would definatly go to Venture hobbies. Alot of cool stuff to see and very well merchandised. Brian is very knowledgeable and has just recently been bitten by the jet bug. He might even have his roo in there to look at. Hey slushyf16, I think I have your tga f15. Was this yours?

I'll second the motion on Venture Hobbies and Al's, good selections and good people. Also talk to Don (the owner) of Venture, hell of a nice guy, knowledgeable too.

Hey Jroth,

There is problem with your club web page. A blue strip covers some of the contents of web pages. I this email this problem to your webmaster.

Thanks for the info, it looks OK on my computer at 1152x864, but I know strange things happen in cyber land.

I tried different resolution on my monitor up to 1920x1200 but the problem persists , so I don't think it is related to monitor. are you a Mac user?

Hey Russ, it sure was my jet! How's it treating you? I'm sure Brian told you one of the conditions of sale was that I get to fly it once Enjoy it, I'm sorry I couldn't spend more time with it.

Al's hobby shop
Venture hobbies
Stanton hobby's

Got to be the three best hobby shops I can think of in Chicago depending on where you will be.
