Comp Arf Lightning CG where.....

Hey guys
Can anyone chip in with their CG position on the Lightning, I have set it as per the Manual at 50mm in front of the center of the wing spar tube hole, without the wings on etc etc.
I found it had a strong tendancy to drop the nose in a turn and inverted, and could not sustain knive edge flight (ok may need more rudder...)
I usually fly 3D (not with this model!!) or at least I try, and am used to an aft ish CG, I am going to move it back so just very interested to see where you guys end up setting the CG.
Thanks in advance for any info

I'm flying just 5mm behind the suggested position, my Lightning will climb in KE and does not need much down inverted.
What elevator neutral trim are you flying with?

Dave Hi
Again set up as per manual the elevator is ''for neutral the elevator trailing edge should be set about 2mm 'up' at the root''
So your CG ended up at about 40mm infront of the center of spar hole, am I understanding that correctly
I would be surprised if 5mm made that much difference, I think you may be onto something re the elevator trim will go re check it.
re:You use a lot of flap.
John
John straight from the manual (I know I keep refering to it!!) Ray Labonte flap settings 15 & 45 degrees, its a doddle to land with that full flap setting.
Wondering now if anyone flies the lightning with the CG just 10mm or so in front of the center of the spar hole.
Phil.

So how about the CG of the new Ultra Lightning?
I suspect my UL will I arrive at the beginning of december and probably without the new manual. Any other set-ups are welcome as well like flap, crow and other mixer settings. [8D]
