I´ve just wonder if anyone else have noticed that the enginemount is 13mm lower on one side?.The problem is that the vector doesn´t fit like the instruction. My Harphoon is like that and 4 of my friends are the same so it´s must be an construction error??????

They must be drinking at the factory :-)

I just cant belive how many flaws there are on these "high quality" ARF`s/kits that we buy. I ve only had a kangaroo and a hotspot, and on both there have been alignment problems of all kinds of things..... like gear mounts being offset , different locations of wing joiner tube holes.....

Hi,

may be that you have to install your vector servo just next to the turbine, and that your linkage is parallel to the turbine?
So there has to be a rotation in the mount,or?

I´ve just asked someone from composite-arf.com, that´s what he said.

Have a look in your buliding instruction.

Default Harpoon

Hi Niclas
My Graupner Harpoon was completed last week and I have already logged 21 flights on it.
Though I did not not notice the same problem as your Harpoon, when the vector thrust pipe was installed per instructions, the engine did not end up in the center of the pipe. We had to glue a
3/8" hard wood on the mount on both sides to drop the engine down so it would center itself on the pipe. PLus the servo for the vector thrust pipe was installed on the provided metal bracket on the left side of the engine with the linkage going from the side and under the engine.

Happy Flight
Jason

Guy's

I didn't notice the mounts being at different heights on my early kit, but if a rule lies across the two surfaces flat, then the factory meant to do it. Servo clearance would be improved.
once the engine is in the centre of the outlet slot you can rotate it how yo like.
To get the motor centered using a JC mount , turn it up side down and mount it with the strap at the top of the aircraft-use CSK screws or put in clearance holes for the screw heads. Engine removal is easy as the motor and mount come out together.
There are several kit improvements over the first batch, the wing fixing now is accessed through the wing not the fuselage hatch which was fiddly.
Later kits only have the nose opening cut allowing the main wheel and leg opening to be tailored to your chosen gear. You can even fit gear doors.

My model will do flat climbing spins with a P120!
