Default To the Batplane

Decided to give my AD Phoenix a winter overhaul, fancied doing a paint job, only done one before, so figured it would be a good model to practice on, wanted something a little different just for the hell of it, so spent a few months toying with schemes on the computer then a few more drawing up the final scheme. Made all the paint masks myself.

So all thats left now is a final rub down and a gloss coat gear and engine back in job done, for a second ever paint job rather pleased with the way its turned out so far.

Lozza,

you have made a job of that, looks really nice.

Are you still planning on another Savex for the future?

I'd worry about how hot it will get sitting out in the sun. Hope you don't have a FASST RX in it. Be careful.

Sitting out in the what? This is Britain. It needs to be waterproof, not sun proof!

Well progress coming on nicely now, since the last all together pictures were taken i was'nt happy with the finnish (not shinny enough) so rubbed it all back down with 1500 wet n dry then dropped her off at a professional paint sprayers who put two lacquer coats on

What a finnish looks fab now, anyway refitted the wheels gear and now all plumbed and working ok, fitted the turbine back on today, so fuel tanks radio equipment left then shes just about done

The prototype did fly on a pusher prop to affirm the proof of concept, a friend has the second kit pulled from the mold and it is a work of art!
nomex honeycomb construction to keep it light and strong. it is for sale
