SpongeBobViolettnomoreductedfanspants
I just went to the BVM website, and many pages have been removed from the online catalog. I heard rumors that they were not promoting gas ducted fans anymore. Is this true? Am I the last to know, as usual? I've got a buttload of Bobstuff that I was going to sell- perhaps I should consider keeping it now. Or maybe I should just find new uses for these things. Here's a picture of me practicing with my Vioflute!

Bob has been out of the ducted fan business for about 3 years now.
You must not have been watching what direction he has been taking his company the last 3 years.
He is headed towards Electric jets now because he see's the hand writing on the wall. Some rallys are doing away with turbines , so get ready for a change in the future.
Yes, I too have two engines and fan units from him that are still in my basement, better hang on to them.

You're right. I remember when news of electric research with the Viofan started circulating around. I thought it was great news for the jet scene, and still think so. I guess I was too busy flying my Wattage F86 to notice the changes on their website. I notice that you can still purchase the nitro fan units and mixture controls. My last purchase invoice from BVM is dated 5/9/05. Tempus fugit, my friends.

Wow we better let all the other Kit manufactures know Skymaster, Comp-Arf, Yellow , Tom Cook ect. that are producing bigger and faster models built for turbine. They need to know the wrighting is on the wall. What a lame statment. Sorry could not help myself. Oh maybe Bob will stop producing that $11,750.00 Ultra Bandit kit because he saw the wrighting on the wall.

And as far as Glow ducted fan, I know a few guys that are still flying them and enjoying them to the fullest because they can't afford a turbine for what ever reason. William, you better sell all your turbine stuff because The writings on the wall. I know a few people that would probably buy it cheep because the writings on the wall.

And when an EDF jet goes by, the spectators at the "rallys" all yawn and say "I wonder when they are going to fly a turbine jet again?"

The decline of turbine activity (If such a thing occurs) will be due not to the handwriting on the wall, but the fireballs on the ground. There will always be boys with nice toys as long as the money flows, and our beloved Bob will be there to assist the flow. He would be my first choice for distributing my new jet engine that runs on water. (As soon as I figure out how to light it off) And now, I present the one and only Viovacuum!

Alot of guys/gals simply have the disposable income, and want to be different.
So long as there are folks willing to spend the bigger bucks, there will always be turbines.
And there will always be some company or other, ready to take the dough.
Lousyflyer, , , Quick, , , Get a patent!

I'm not saying that BVM has abandoned ducted fan fliers, I just think he goes were the money is. As an innovator and shrewd businessman, one must avoid activities which do not return a profit.Such activities are generally known as HOBBIES. I am sure that he has bills just like everyone else. In-laws to support, and so forth. Take a look at the BVM website- the showroom is magnificent, and you know those floodlights and ceiling fixture bulbs don't run on kerosene..... HEY, wait a minute....BVM has plenty of kerosene on hand! He could save a fortune on his light bill by using wick lamps! And he could add perfumed scents to his fuel for turbines- a potpourri with every flyby. That having been said, we must realize that if Bob Violett did not look ahead, he would be selling control-line stuff.(Yes, he has roots in control-line speed flying, if I'm not mistaken) Somebody stop me- It's time to introduce the VioRouter!

Lets not forget that bob still makes the F-100 the new big f-86 and a few others that probably won't fly with an EDF because they are so large.

RE: SpongeBobViolettnomoreductedfanspants
If Bob Violett has something new under wraps at BVM, it could be anyone's guess. However, I have obtained at great risk to myself and my undisclosed source, evidence which indicates that BVM is negotiating with a major aerospace manufacturer. Their partnership will yield the very first noiseless propulsion system for aircraft. I may get sued over this, but here my friends is the photo of the first unit off the assembly line The VIOFAN with GULFSTREAM ATTENUATOR fitted and ready to run!-Long live the Blowbuggies and those who dare to fly them!
