Default Setting up my elevons on my Stingray

When i did the wings i setuped the elevons to have about 1inch of travel (like they said in the manual) so it goes 1inch up-down max physicaly (it cant go further)

Now i'm doing the linkage when i did some tests i saw that if i'm full up-down i'm on 1inch but if i'm full up-down and i want to put some eleron it want to go furter!! It's logical (it was not an issue on my whiplash i got enough travel) but now on my Stingray i CANT go more than 1 inch of total travel. The best way is to have the one inch travel when full up-down and only one side go up-down when i apply aileron. Can i make this with the standard elevon mixe or i have to do a new one?

hope i'm clear enough,

Thx,

Claude Perron

I use about 3/16" for aileron with 70% differential with my F-106. It takes very little. You could move the CG to if necessary to help the up.

Hey Claude.

First, from the opinions I've heard on this jet 1" is OK, but you can run out of elevator with 1" if the CG is too far forward and you get it a little slow. I'm setting mine up for 1-1/4" elevator and a little less aileron that recommended. I had to shave back the hinge fairings a bit to get it that high.

Have you painted yet, or is it not too late to open up the travel a bit? I just painted mine up today, a few more details left and I'll post pictures.

Maybe i can shave it a little bit. But when i'm lets say full up at 1 inch if i apply some aileron input one side goes down and the other want to go up more and as far as i see i will need a lot more travel i'm not sure if i will be able to add that much travel.

Maybe i will have to set a new mix that when i'm full up and i apply aileron input only one side goes down and the other side dont move.

Using 3/4" up and 1/4" more for aileron would be ok but down only is not used for aileron! The delta I used did up only for aileron the down side did not move. Be careful not to be nose heavy.
