How cool is this.... A tuned up Merlin 90 / Rabbit from 9kg (19.8lbs) to 11kg (24.2) thrust
Amaizing they can get so much thrust out of such a small engine MW-54/Simjet 1200/Ram 500 size

These are specialty engines made by request for a specific customer; as far as I understand JetsMunt has no plans to make this version available to the public in any quantity. While these engines produce an enormous amount of thrust for the size, Gaspar explains that the lifespan of the engine will be greatly reduced running at this RPM and Temp.

Just curious... what was the price they quoted ?
(PS. I can do without the solid gold FOD-screen

Todd,
The factory certificate says 11kg at 152. Its the same rpm as the 90.

Actually, it's turning 155K at 720C fitted with a slightly smaller diameter cone. The M90 produces a consistent 21lbs at corrected ISA conditions.

Hi,
Just to clarify few things.
The "gold" project has been a personal project designed and managed by our customer and friend Mr. Jesus Bardolet, who own a company dedicated to publicity and web design. Jesus took care of all the finish of the parts on his own, and also contacted few other individuals who liked the idea of a cool looking engine. From what he said me this morning, all the engines are pre-sold. The engine come with a nice golden case, new full color manual, etc, with special care to all details.
Thrust: In all series production, there are engines that give more power than others, like the cars. We currently see that production engines go from 9,5Kg to 10,2kg thrust. So on testing we separated the best ones for the conversion. Then we did some magic to have more thrust. During test this very engine on the picture arrived to 11,58Kg at 154600 rpm. Of course the EGT was on the high side (720), high for our (conservative) taste, but usual in other brands.
After the success of this project, we are considering to do another small batch, we will see if there is enough interest so that it justifies the extra work. Surely the power will be a bit less to assure a long life and trouble free operation.

Might look nice, but often hidden in a by-pass, and they ALL (any mfgr) look the same after a wet start and fuselage fire !
It's the spec. that is impressive.
