Roger,
How did you go about getting the OK from the museum to do this event? Is there a model club already on-site? Just curious.

This is a great site to have a event like this!!! We have a lot of work ahead to make this a great show for everyone. We are planning a ton of activities to do during the event. Plus the Museum can take 3 days to go through it. I have been flying in the DOGS event for the pass 5 years. That show can bring in 35,000 + spectators in a weekend, so it is a great place to have families and friends to come and spend a few hours a day and see some very unique Model airplanes.
The staff at the museum is very excited about hosting a event of this kind, and they have and will spend many hours to make sure it will be fun for all. (Airforce7) it took a lot of work to get the Museum to agree to host a event like this. Once they learned about what the event is all about. They truly wanted to have it here. They are all about events that are aviation related. Plus something that is unique and that the public can enjoy.
Get those planes built and plan on attending this event!!!

RE: JetWorldMasters@AirForceMuseum
Thanks T Folks, coming from you guys that have accomplished so much for our jet community really gives that warm fuzzy feeling.
Yea we finally have an opportunity to have an unprecedented Jet World Masters.
It is really an honor to have the United States Air Force Museum resources available to host an International Event. The Museum is very passionate about the prospects of bring visitors from all corners of the US and 30 or more Foreign Countries to experience the Museum. Even more importantly is the opportunity to improve International goodwill and create personal friendship. The IJMC believes that most of the Teams will bring their families and friends for 2 weeks or more for a holiday. It may not be common knowledge but most of these Countries actually close their companies every summer for a six week Holiday.
Everyone that I talked to personally at the meeting in Rheinbach, which was most, said they would definitely bring their families. I recall one Member asking, before my presentation, would there be a means and time to visit the Museum not knowing that we would be at the Museum !
T3 in the air, now that is something, maybe she will do a flyover? Not surprising as both of you are always in the air without ever leaving the ground. Your passion for putting on a great show year after year is certainly equivalent to the Museum’s passion to do the same. We will be calling ………

Sideshow: Yes, Kings island is one of the coolest amusement park in the area. The Beach Water park is across the street from Kings Island. We are planning on having many different activities that everyone can enjoy. Hosting a event at this wonderful Location will allow you to participate in many great activities. Dayton is only 15 minutes form the Museum, Cincinnati is a hour, and Columbus is also one hour.
The Museum is the largest Military Museum in the world. I only live 20 minutes from the museum and I can tell you that I have never been through the hole museum. One thing that is unique about the Museum is that they have aircraft that are from many different counties. This will allow the competitors and spectators to see the actual aircrafts that their country designed and built. The Museum has free admission for everyone and is open 362 days a year.
Rails to Trails is also a very large attraction in the local area. This is a cycling trail that was converted from old abandon railroads. Xenia is the station area. All the trails lead to Xenia and then split to Cincinnati, Yellow srings, Springfield, Jamestown, Cederville, London, and almost to Columbus, and of course the Dayton area.
Over the next few month we will start posting the attractions and also more of the agenda for the competition.
here are just a few things we will have in the area.
1. Dayton Dragons, Semi Pro baseball team
2. Young's Dairy, Largest dairy farm in the area that makes homemade ice cream, petting zoo, putt putt golf, and many more family activities
3. Huffman prairie, First Airport in the world. The Wright Brothers flew out of this field.
4. 3 different malls, all malls are with in 25 minutes
5. Waco Museum, Location and history of Waco Aircraft.
6. Skydiving,
7. Antique Biplane rides
This is just a few things that are in the works. We truly plan on putting the red carpet down for everyone. If you have any question feel free to email Roger Shipley or myself.
For rules and regulations on the competition and aircraft take a look at the IJMC website http://www.ijmc.net/

Wow, Rodger, I'm stunned. I've been to the Dayton museum twice, and to many of the Smithsonian's as well, and in my opinion Dayton is the best of any of them. Then to pull off being able to potentially host the JWM there as well... very impressive. I offer a sincere tip of the hat to what must have taken a huge amount of work and effort.

The museum, Roger, and many other volunteers will have a big responsibility to make sure this event runs smoothly. Once more of the details are in place,
we will start posting more information for this amazing event. I feel the Museum is the best place. I approached them back in 2007, and asked if they would be interested in hosting an event of this kind. Once they learned more about the competition and how things operate, they were just as excited about it as I was. I talked to Roger Shipley, and felt that he is the perfect person to organize an event of this size. He has been great for offering the proper information, and has a wealth of knowledge about the IJMC and the JWM. He will be in charge of the event, and the Museum will make sure everything is done properly. They will also take care of the competition grounds. I live very close to the museum, and will help Roger with the organizing . This will make it easier to find sponsors, shoping discounts, and arrange activities. This will ensure that everyone has plenty to do. We are anticipating over 100,000 spectators, and will have to make sure that the event runs smoothly. Soon, I will make a power point presentation. This presentation will feature the many attractions, and all the appealing things that the Museum , Dayton, and the surrounding area has to offer. I hope each and everyone will plan on attending with your families!!!!
