Default Roo or Hotspot question...?

Just curious, I am designing a delta wing jet that I want to fly with elevons only (mixed elev/aileron and no other flight controls besides rudder)

On a plane such as the Kangaroo, how large are the individual elevons? (total length and width of the moveable surface)

Thanks,
Andrew

Default Guesstimate.

I am not at home to measure mine but as a guess, it is about 18"long by about 2 -21/4 wide.

Default HotSpot elevon

Andrew,

The elevon on my HotSpot measures 18 1/2" long at the leading edge and 17 3/8" at the trailing edge. The chord is 4" at the root end and 2 1/2" at the tip end.

Thanks for helping Joe with his Super Reaper. It is all done and looks great. He hopes to fly it soon.

Take care,

Gene

Default Roo or Hotspot question...?

Thanks guys for the replies - that is wider than I had thought but I guess you need that much for proper elevator authority.

Glad to talk to your pal Gene, I am positive he will love the S Reaper, it is a real pleasure to fly.

Default Roo Elevons

Andrew,

On the Roo:

Leading & trailing edge length = 20.5" & 20.0"
Root width = 4"
Tip width = 2.5"
