Default fuel filter

I have a moderate to heavy leak on my fuel filter guys. Is their any type of filter I could pick up locally that would work? Could I use a sullivan crap trap? BTW my leaky filter is a canister type about 1" long and 5/8" in diameter.

Thanks! Pete

the crap trap is too course a mesh, the filter is mostly to catch the particles off the fuel pump as it wears to prevent them entering the fuel solenoid. if you can find a paper type filter at your local car parts place with the right size for your application they'll work just fine.

I've used the Dubro Final filter on several of my turbines. I works well and most hobby shops stock them. The 4 mm. line is a tight fit over the nipple so you might have to work at it a bit.

I've used the Hangar 9 metal fuel filter almost exclusively, for many years. Never had a problem with one.

Only 'issue' is that the large nipple does require a bit more patience in getting the plumbing done initially, but that's no big deal.

if you'll swipe a flame over your tubing, and i do mean swipe, don't linger, it'll slip right over the fittings.

A heat gun will work too, but fire is more fun than a fancy hair dryer.
