Default First it was Cold & Dark...

I really love Alaska except for Winter.

In October it starts to get cold and the daylight is decreasing quickly.

November it is too cold and dark to fly jets. Gets to around 4 hours of sunlight about Christmas.

It stays too cold until mid March usually.

So now we've increased to over 13 hours of sunlight and the temperature is above freezing and I'm ready to get one of my jets going but...

A STUPID VOLCANO ERUPTS AND SPEWS ABRASIVE ASH ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!

Anchorage International is closed off & on at times and flights are being canceled whenever the ash blows near Anchorage.

My flight to California Jets is scheduled for mid week and I'm fretting over whether or not it'll be canceled.

Other than that I'm fine...thanks for asking!

Bob

Bobby oh Bobby, stop crying my friend-today in NorCal was a horrible day! We had sunny skies, crisp air, and 35 mile per hour gusts! I would say we have it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse than you.

All jokes aside, you better get yer assss down to the Willow!!!!! Hope to see a bud!

Hey, Nick & Kevin!

I'm really looking forward to seeing y'all at CA Jets. (maybe Nick will let me touch his beermobile...or, at least, get near it)

I just hope the volcano has pity on me.

I really miss flying with the Western Washington guys, Al.

I enjoyed your first column in "Contrails"...very happy to have you as VP of the Jet Pilot's Organization.

I am making plans to be attending Jets Over Whidbey this year. August 28,29, & 30th. I just have to take a couple of vacation days.

Best regards,
Bob
