I had to get a 12X late last year, because my 14mx would turn itself off whenever it felt like it.
It cost me two jets.
The one feauture that I like about the 12X is that it stays on until I turn it off.
Once you get use to the 12X you will find that it is very veritile.
You will never regret buying it.

It was called mixing on my X9303

you don't have unlimited mixing, once you run out that's it, with the 12x those features don't use up ANY of your mixes.

What do you mean by 'set to the screen'?
I have mine set to start of the throttle stick position and beep at half time, but you have me interested in this screen setting.

the 12x timer can be set to any switch or stick position it can also be set to the screen like the 10x and that's how i have mine setup. you can also set the intervals of the beeps.

The 9303 has the capability for dual ailerons, elevators, rudders, flaps, and throttles. On the "Wing Type" screen you can mate the aux. channels for these functions and coordinate the trims without using a mix. It also automatically renames the mated channels (right aileron, left aileron, etc.) to make it easier when setting subtrim or end point travel.

A quick update: I programmed the new 12X and made a hot lap to Waco with my two sport jets for flight tests. Programming was a snap as the menus are very similar to the 9303. Control throws with the 12X were identical to those with the 9303. Flights went without a hitch with just a click or two of trim needed. Although the 12X certainly has a different feel in my hands, I did not notice any significant ergonomic differences when flying with a transmitter tray.
I also swapped out the Spektrum receiver for a 9221 in the glitching jet just in case the problem was not in the transmitter. The fade count for the 1221 (two flights) did seem to be less, but who knows - not a scientific test, and the r/f environment may have been cleaner than at my local field.
Is the 12X worth it? If the extra channels can be used in a complex jet, I think it is a no brainer. But even with a 9 channel jet, the 12X has some pretty cool stuff most of which has already been mentioned in this thread. I particularly liked the selectable knobs/switches, knife edge mix, count down timer, and 3 position rate switches. Whether the "cool stuff" is worth more than double the price of the 9303 is a matter of personal preference, but I'm glad I went with the 12X.
Thanks for all the advice - very helpful.

I think one of the nicest feature on the 12X is the warning system. I use it to warn me of my gear switch position, throttle low position (for start up), and my flight mode positions to ensure my flaps are in the correct position for takeoff. The fact that the transmitter doesn't even transmit until you reset all of these pre-selected switch/stick positions is very nice...Gary
