From: Nashville, TN,
I have this one on the calendar this year. I heard about 08 and it sounds like I missed out. So, it looks like Team Velox will make it this year. I only have so many kitchen passes so I have to use them wisely.
Now I hope the other half of Team Velox can score us a hotel.

Sean, the golf carts worked well last year but they are a real liability for me in many ways and we don't want to use them again this year. Eliminating golf cart usage (by everyone) is the main reason for the new location for flying. Last year the golf carts were a fix for a logistical problem with the RV location but we have figured out a much better solution for 2009. I am very excited about the new location because I know it is going to be even better than last year. Moving most or all of the pilots tents away from the flight line (runway) also adds a measure of safety for everyone attending the event and now guys can probably just start up and taxi to the flight line right from their tent if that is what they want to do. We will decide on that after we see how much room we have.
So, to answer your question, yes we will definitely have electricity for the RV's. There is 400 amps available at the hangers but we plan on providing a very large generator for you guys for the weekend as well. I believe that we have a company that will create some plug connections spaced appropriately for the RV's but we are still working on the connection methods.
There is also a water hookup right at the site where we will be parking you guys. Essentially water and electric should be the same as last year only power will come from a generator instead of the city. I am told the generator is as quiet as a car idling so it should not be a disturbance for anyone trying to sleep. We will have several water taps but everyone should bring their own hoses for water connections like last year. You guys may have to get together and connect a few hoses together to help each other out like last year.

Gary,
Sounds great!! I completely understand the liability of the golf carts. You guys really cater to the pilots and that is what makes this event the best! And, the fact that the RV community isn't viewed as a nuisance or an afterthought makes it even better. Definitely can't wait for this event, wouldn't miss it!

UPDATE FOR RV'S
Please read the information below if you are planning on bringing an RV to Cincinnati Jets.
We have relocated the flying area this year that has resulted in some changes for the RV's. We are able to accommodate allot of RV's because we have plenty of space. We will have electric and water available for the weekend and will provide electric for as many RV's as we can at the new location. We will have 120 volt power available this year and about 400 amps from the hangers and possibly a small generator. I had planned on providing a large generator for the RV's but the cost is prohibitive so I suggest that everyone with RV's bring a generator just in case we run out of power since I have no idea how many people in RV's will be attending. I do not expect it will be a problem but please be prepared with your own generator.
This information is now provided in the first post in this thread as well...Thanks, Gary

Gary,
If I go. I only ship the little rocket 1:12 F-16 and Spark to you.
Hauling the trailer it just too much works. I'll save it for Ohio E-Jets september to haul the whole fleet.

Gary,
I received your message today and that will not be a problem with the 110v RV hookup. I understand that you guys are doing your best and I am flattered that you have tried to cater to the RV group of guys in such a manner.
BTW, my very first post on here was NOT to down another Event NOR any other CD. My opinion was only to state that this is a VERY well run Event with no distractions. Thank you again and I will see you at the Event.

Frank, right now the fuel price is about $3.25/gallon at the airport. The airport manager is planning on bringing the fuel truck down to the flying site so anyone that needs fuel can get it very quickly right at the flight line area.
