Default Mystery solved.

Ben, there's nothing to get. The above was made, not bought.

Cool - so, are you going to share part nmbrs and the techniques to used to create the "bag", etc.? Looks great.

Now I get it. How much did it cost you to make one?

Default Well.....

I'm not exactly sure if I called up BV and asked him to give me part #'s and techniques, if he'd be so inclined.

All kidding aside, it's all machined, and the membrane is bought, but not from SWB. I doubt they would even sell it.

So George, you are NOT going to tell us where you bought it. Did it cost you less than BV's price with all the machining and time you put into it? If so, share with us or you are a big tease

Considering you have to make few $$, BV's price is not bad if it costs $41.00 to manufacture one.

Default Rough

Ben, without breaking down the labor to exact $$ figures, that's a guestimate, but real close. I MIGHT have been a little high though, but just a little .

SWB will sell you the bags. I just recently got a dozen for us at my daytime job. We use the bag inside our tank as a pre- pump filter. I think they are 25 from SWB.

Default The Bag

That "bag" is nothing more than an automotive "filter sock" used on the pick up of an in tank fuel pump. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the application. I'd guess the one pictured is a 30 micron filter which is the most common.

I'm not sure if they are readily available on the aftermarket since generally if one gets plugged the pump and filter sock get changed as a unit, at least that's how the dealers do it.

I'd suggest taking the picture and the approximate dimensions you want into an automotive parts store and see what they have. If available one shouldn't cost more than a $ 4-5.
