Default Winter hack jet.

I am looking for an inexpensive winter hack jet, something simple without retracts, or brakes (not required in Europe) to fly off a rough grass field, I have looked at the Mick Reeves Super Reaper and at the moment that seems to be favorite, I don't want another pod and boom model

Suggestions welcome.

Look at Nick Ziroli's "Turbinator". It has the look of a 50's style jet. You can get the short kit pretty cheap. It comes in two sizes. I am building the 44 size which I think would be ideal for the 54 size turbines. It is set up for retracts but you don't have to install them.

Mike Andy Sale was selling a reaction kit (the original ply and balsa version) for little money on the JMA site

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortuanatly I forgott to mention I have a JetCat P80 to put into whatever I end up with, so I am restricted on size to something suitable.

The full size Turbinator would be perfect for a P-80. It has a 72" wing span and a weight of 20-22 lbs.

I have seen short kits for it sell for around $120.

The Turbinator still has retracts, or long legs which will not last long on my winter patch, the BD5J would be perfect, Jonathang I have PM'd you.

What about Ali's "Mach 1" ?
Can use same struts and gear from the Boomerangs, which works great off our rough grass.

Ali's Mach 1 is not out yet and it does not take a P80, but a good thought as Ali has promised me No one in the British scheme. LOL
