that's what I thought at first, but from looking at pics of a starfire it appears that this jet horizontal stab is mounted on towards the top of the rear tube vs. middle like on a starfire. Plus the sep. between the trailing edge of the wing and the leading edge of the horizontal stab seems further then a starfire.
I wonder if this could be one of the older JMP Starfires before YA revised them.

A friend of mine has a JMP starfire, the tail, wing, inlet, and hatch looks like his starfire. The hatch looks like he cut it bigger then what it came with, windshield looks the same though.

The main speed machine from the Hurricane boys was the Cobra. It was the only thing that could keep up with Aggressors and Vipers in the day. I honestly have no clue who made this thing. The intakes still have me puzzled.
