Default Anyone using Robart variable air valves in jets?

I have them on my 310 and I think they are fantastic. I just never hear of them being used in any jets and wonder why that is.

Come to think of it , I don't see many models with scale (speed) operating gear and doors, except for giant stuff.

Maybe gear and doors "slam" shut for a reason?

Pete

Let me just ask this then, Would you think it's ok to use these on Retracts and doors?

If used specifically for retracts, they work great. I use them in all my jets.

If you're trying to integrate air system functions for both doors and retracts, I'm not sure you'll get what you're looking for. There are other options for valves which would be better suited for that type of system.

Works fantastic.

Retract speed and doors close are very scale

There is no reason why the Robart valve can't be used in jets. Mike Cherry used the old non-adjustable Robart valves years ago to operate/sequence the gear & doors on his F-15. Sure, there are better alternatives on the market today, but the Robarts are an option if you like to tinker.

Hi Guillermo,

Hey Nicolas:

One for ailerons and one for rudder/nose wheel.

Ihave read in the thread What's ABC of gyros in jets" that with ailerons gyro the jet is rock solid althought in cross wind there is a small tail oscillation that will be dampened with a tail gyro.
