I heard from the designer his thoughts were that these devices would aid the end user when flying inverted. Due to the extreme levels of magnification coorelated with the "fish eye" characteristics of the lens uses, the ingrained propensity for one to roll inverted and then Split S into the runway would virtually be eliminated due to the fact that if you really need these to fly...your eyesight is so poor you could not possibly qualify for a drivers licence...therefore ensuirng your planes will remain safe and sound...stored in the garage because you would have no way to get to the flying field and crash them.
