Default JL F15 and Jr9303 programming Help

Hello to all ,

i have Jet legend F15 and Jr 9303 radio ( Not 2.4 ghz)
i used hitec Hs 5955TG for elevators, 5125Mg for rudders, HS5245 for ailerons, HS 5625 for flaps. İ have powerbox 40/24.
And motor is Jetcat P120. But i am new to jets and to radio. Can you help me about JR9303 for use at JL F15. How will i mix radio channels, what is expo value, how will i find cg? how will i use 3 mode of swtich ( landing, fly, takeoff) . And i dont know how will i make 3 mode switch?
please help me about programming 9303 to my F15.

Thank you .

Well Doc, first thing I would say is get ahold of the the 9303 manual. That is gonna help you alot. I will try to answer your questions and let you know what some of your options are.

1. Channel Mixing - You can mix ailerons, elevators, rudders, and flaps. If you do that with a 9303 you will see that you will run out of channels. With the channel listing below, the are 7 channels that are gonna be consumed by different surfaces/applications. Need to think about door actuations. My advice here is to get a Jet Model Products door sequencer and valve. It works off the gear channel only and won't need another channel. This isn't the only door solution, just one that I have used without fail on many occasions. Basically you have 2 available channels to mix to, and you need 3-4 more available channels. Since the 15 has two rudders and you need to tie in the nose gear, a JR MATCHBOX will work great in this situation. It allows each servo to be individually programmed from centering, endpoints, and reversing. I would mix ELEVATOR to Aux3 and Aileron to Aux4. ( I REALIZE YOU HAVE A POWERBOX, BUT IT ISN"T NECESSARY for your setup) Also, Powerboxes do not allow individual adjustment of servos that are on a single channel.

The powerbox will work work great for your flaps if your flap servo are install to the point that one does not need to be reversed. If it has to be reversed then you could buy a "reversed" servo and then use the powerbox. Another option would be to use a "REVERSED Y-HARNESS" i don't recommend. All else fail. Put a matchbox on it.
Typical channels
Throttle - Turbine
Aileron - Aileron (1)
Elevator Elevator (1)
Rudder Rudder (1)
Gear Retract Valve (1)
Aux1 Flaps (1)
Aux2 Brakes (1)
Aux3 Elevator (1)
Aux4 Aileron (1)

What is expo value? Im assuming you know what expo is and justn need the values. This is hard to answer because every pilot likes his "feel" different from the next pilot. It also depends on how much throw you have setup on each surface. As a general rule you could start with 20% expo and adjust from there.

How will I find CG. Ask a rep here or somone should chime in with CG location. Just be sure that it balances to recommended location.

The 9303 should have 3 position Flap Switch on the top left hand side just above the throttle. Once you have the flap servos setup properly, centered, and end points adjusted, there is a flap system programming in the radio. It has 3 positions that you can programm a value to give you "x" amount of flaps per switch position (IE. FlY 0% TakeOFF 15% Landing 25%).

I hope that helps you

Sean
