Default Vector pipe opinions

Hi all

I am going to upgrade my new to me Rookie 1 with a dual axis pipe. Dreamworks has 2 one from Tams as well as another. Any opinions between these 2 from anyone who may have had either? The mounting on the non-Tams looks nice, the price is pretty close between the 2.

Any opinions, mounting problems or whatever?

Thanks

Default RE: Vector pipe opinions

Guys, I purchased the TAM vector pipe from Dreamworks and put it in my Rookie with a JetCat Titan a few weeks ago. I've had some problems taxying down wind with the fire going out in the turbine. Don't know why yet, but suspect the pipe may be letting the tail wind blow the engine exhaust back into the engine compartment and the engine injests the exhaust gas which starves it of 02. Once I get the airplane headed up wind, the problem goes away. I've only got a couple of flights on the bird with the Titan, but throttle control is absolutely a must, otherwise the airframe will be over stressed. I may move the pipe further into the engine compartment (closer to the exhaust nozzle of the engine) and see if that helps my downwind taxy.

Either pipe will work, but I like TAM's stuff better. The other brand that mounts to the exhaust cone would be easier to mount, but either will work.

Good luck with your project.

Les
