Guys, I have a Jet Cat GSU but I can't find the "phone line" cable for it. Is there a place I can buy a compatible one at like a Radio Shack or something? I know the standard phone line wont work. I am just trying to avoid ordering one from JetCatUSA cuz I'd like to get one tomorrow. I'm in the L.A. area.
Thanks in advance!!!

Lowes and/or Home Depot have pre-made (connectors at each end) 25 ft 6 conductor line in a package for less than $10. Don't remember the exact price. Just cut off the required length and put connectors on it. I have a bunch of cables made from this stuff. Color is off white and not black. You can get the RJ-11 modular connector in 25 piece packages there too. Just made sure you get the connectors oriented correctly, i.e., inverted relative to each other.

Standard phone line is 4 conductor like what you use in your house. Jetcat uses the 6 conductor version which would support a phone with a couple of lines. So make sure you get 6 conductor cable & modular connectors. Both Lowes & Home Depot have an aisle with cable, phone and computer stuff. Last time I was in HD I couldn't find the 6 conductor cable, so you may have to stop at more than one place. What I got was in a clear plastic bubble package on the rack.

I wrote a thread regarding this same thing back in Oct of 2008.
Here's the photos of what you will need. The crimper came from Radio shack, and the cable and terminals were from Home Depot.

It's a easy job to do but besure and get the cable oriented correctly in the connector. If you don't, you won't like the result and will sending the ECU back to JetCat for repairs.

Spencer, just go to the JetCat web site and look under accessories. The "phone" cables are available there ($4.40 for 12" and $4.95 for 29"). All made up, no mess'n with connectors etc. Although the capability to make custom lengths for the internal wiring is a good thing to have. For the GSU cable you don't need a specific length.

There is a polarity ridge one one side of the flat cable. Study how the plugs are oriented to the polarity ridge on an original JetCat cable before you start.
