Fly Eagle 1/7 L-39 Weight
Hey guys
Anyone got a final weight for their Fly Eagle 1/7 L-39? Mine is outfitted with a JetCat P-80, multifunction valve, servos as required, 6 volt sub C nicad receiver pack and JetCat ECU battery with full UAT. I am seeing a no fuel (other than UAT) weight of 21 lbs 9 oz. Seems heavy but I can't see anywhere to lose weight. What bothers me is the major discrepancy between my finished weight and what's on their website (15-19 lbs). I have been at this hobby for 18 years now and I realize that it's pretty rare to actually hit the published weight, but this seems really out. Anyone with some experience on this aircraft please pipe in. I am worried this thing is going to be a guided brick???
Thanks
Bob

That weight sounds right and yes it is very heavy for that wing.

Thanks Ronnie. I had followed that thread quite closely while I was building mine and found it extremely helpful thank you. Sorry to hear about the crash, did you get anyting else up in the air with that turbine?
I guess I am in the right weight zone compared to yours and Sebastien's reported weights. I am hoping to maiden mine this weekend if all goes well.

I salvaged the retracts and they are in my JetMach SuperSport in my avatar.
I'm kind of tired of the Chinese arfs, don't think I will be picking anything else up soon.
Bob and I are pretty busy with new design projects coming up.
