Yes, that is the chemical make-up for an A123.

Chad

thanks for that. I'm really surprised this charger has this option as it must be 4 years old and I didn't think these A123 cells were about then.

thanks

That's pretty much the beginning of A123's for hobby use. If it's not a balancing charger, you may want to get one. While it isn't as important as it is with lipo's, and they won't burst in to flames, it does extend the life of the batter and let you get the most mah out of your batteries.

Good luck!

You can also use a Blinky made for A123s http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=5672

FWIW and regarding balancing, I use my standard Thunderpower balancers to balance my A123 packs. This is possible because the balancers start working at a voltage below the max voltage reached by A123s on charge. It's likely that other makes of stand-alone balancers will also work.

Hi Guys,
I have 4 Triton chargers I use for everything so far. Can I use these for A123 if I plug something in between ? OR, do I need to buy another charger .
Thanks,
Dale

Be careful when choosing a balancer. A lipo balancer will not work properly, as the cut off voltage is too high. Most chargers work by DRAWING power from the high cell. The reason I use (and sell) the FMA Cell Pro is it PUSHES power to the low cell, AND it actually charges each cell individually through the balancing connector.

I'm sure there are other decent chargers out there, this is just what I use.

I'll second that! An advantage of the CellPro Multi5 is that it will allow you to do other types.
