I was recently told about a packet loss test done on a 72 MHz PCM radio. The radio never lost link (went into failsafe) but still logged an enormous number of lost packets. Point being that simply having a frame counter does not mean you are getting meaningful data.
So? That data would still be enormously useful! Knowing the amount of lost packets would allow the user to attempt optimization of his installation. No one is asking, necessarily, for a fail safe counter. A lost packet counter would be fantastic!

OK, but it is silly to try to argue that not having one is evidence of some desire to cover up or avoid revealing anything. As I said, it is my understanding that due to the nature of frequency hopping frame loss counting is difficult or impossible.

Not so, the Weatronic system has a frame counter, the Multiplex M-link system has a frame counter, I believe the Jeti system has a frame counter, and they are all FHSS. The Weatronic doesn't merely count frames like the Spektrum flight log, it records second by second the number of frames received by each of the two rx and this can be displayed on PC later so if one aerial is not doing so well at reception, you can see precisely when it happened. Surprisingly, the worst periods are often in the pits at the beginning and not during the flight, info which a Spektrum flight log doesn't give you if you get a poor reading from it sometime and you are left wondering why.

That's right Harry!!! Weatronics really sounds like the system to beat. I need to get one.

Mark I think I have the best system available - Multiplex 4000 fitted with Weatronic transmission

You better believe Harry's works! I flew the MPX 4000 for 8 yearson 72, best system EVER available on 72 for sure. lw JR & Futaba away in range (due to transmitted power, IIRC), programming flexibility, and (in my case) reliability. Quite a combo Harry!
