I am posting this for friend, keep a lookout for this jet. If you happen to see it let me know and I will relay the info to him.
Roger
This plane was stolen just after Thanksgiving.
The Bandit was built to BVM spec’s with all JR servos and a Smooth stop brake actuator. It had a JR R1221 receiver with A123 batteries for the flight pack. A name was under the electronics tray (this may be removed or changed) on an AMA label and the turbine was a Jet Cat P120SE. This is all standard equipment per BVM. The one and only thing that stands out is the paint job. This is the only bandit I know of painted this way.
Please contact me if you know anything about where this jet may be.
Thanks!
Roger

How was it stolen? Did you file a police report?

Seems that this happens often. Can R/C jets be insured against theft?

nothing worse than some SCUM-BAG POS who decides to steal something someone else worked had for because it's easier than working for it himself.....if we were to cut the hand off a thief for stealing....they woudnt do it a 3rd time if u know what I mean.......

AMA insurance covers this if your homeowner's doesn't. Not sure what the limit is.

AMA only covers it if it was stolen at an AMA sanctioned event. I know someone who had stuff taken from the back of thier vehicle and the homeowners only covered part of it. AMA would NOT cover anything because what is mentioned above. There also has to be proof of break in for homeowners or AMA to cover it if it was at an AMA sanctioned event.

theft loss claims must be accompanied by a police report. NOTE: Theft has to occur from a

Is ―excess‖ to any other applicable coverage such as homeowner’s.

I am a little curious who your friend is that you are reporting this for? Does he use RCU? How was it stollen? Does anyone else know anything about it?
I feel bad for your friend but this "report" is a little unusual and lacking details.

I found the post on my local clubs website, posted by a fellow club member who lives in Columbia ,SC and travels some routes out of there. You are correct, it does look like the same jet (mike gills). I agree, that the details are vague and since I put myself in the middle here I will try to get more info. I have no phone number for Steve, who posted it at
www.flyingtigersrc.com
I have left replies on the thread posted there requesting more info. I have had dealings with Steve and consider him a reliable character. But you all probably saw my other post concerning another "reliable character" LOL

Your efforts make more sense now and is commendable. I am still a little surprised the owner didn't report it on RCU himself three weeks ago inorder to recover it or at least keep someone from unknowing buying the jet or components.
At least you posted something on behalf of the owner and everyone on RCU...thanks.

Just thinking... might be time for me to write down serial #s for my equipment, engines and radios that have them. Might help to have an engraved mark on some stuff too! Or/And put a marking inside the plane where it is hard to reach and only you know where it is. How about some pictures of your stuff too? You could keep them in your wallet and show them like pictures of your grand kids.
AMA $1000 limit is somewhat small for anyone in the hobby for more than two minutes.
