Default A-4 Skyhawk flaps

I am building a Yellow Aircraft A-4 to fly off of my grass field and would like to know if flaps are worth it? I am trying to make it as light as possible.Does anyone have any experiance flying a YA skyhawk off grass?

I have built 4 of these jets...all O.S. .91 / Dynamax powered. I did not have flaps on any of them. Grass take off was in about 400'. This was very short grass and with someone holding the jet while I ran it up to full power and then releasing it. That was at 11 pounds dry weight.

Hi, Dom, what size wheels and retracts did you use?

Hi,

The flaps won't aid your takeoff at all if that information helps...
