Hi Raul
Nice pics and nice work.
If you look carefully to pic nº2, the rudder movement will not be ok if you don't put ball links on the rudder shaft side. The pin from the sullivan type link shall neve be aligned with the rudder horn. FEJ used to send aluminium with ball brass links to allow this movement.
Keep us posted.

Nuno

RE: Fly Eagle F-18 1:6
I got mine and put it together for the AMA show this weekend. They just keep getting better and better! This thing is unreal right out of the box! I will post some shots from the show. I have the armament on it and it is big. Everything is a perfect fit and finish.
I also have the F-4 that is pictured on the web in the German drone. It even has a speed brake behind the mains (with the sevo installed already!) that after all these years I didn't know existed. The fit and finish is EXCELLENT! And for all of you that are concerned, the gear work fantastic and the pipe is impresive. Another couple of winners!!

Ok. You're right..
Looking carefully at the pic, it's visible that both rudder horn and push rods have the same line due to "twisted" horn.
Nice touch.

Hi!
We have the FEJ F-18 1:6 with two front flaps. We can't find the travel setting for these flaps. FEJ doesn't have the exact instruction manual for this model. All ideas from you guys will be of great help and will be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

The P-200SX is just perfect with the 1/7th scale F-18F at 230 N.
The 1/6th scale one is going to be underpowered with a Mammoth. Bare in mind that this airframe generate a tremendous amount of drag with a Y pipe...
I'd go for the new Behotec 300...

The 1/6th F-18 will not be underpowered with the Mammoth. I'll matchmy Mammoth poweredF-15 withanything on the market. It will be a great combination as you will discover.

I am getting ready to begin a 1/6 F-18 build for a friend. This one is in the Honeycomb, latest construction and will have a twin turbine setup. Using 2 EvoJet 160vx's, turned down to meet AMA guidelines. This one has the new, full length Slats rather than to two separated with a pivot rod running the length of the Slat into a servo box under the wing farings. So, I don't know if I will be of any help for you on this. If you do have the Split Slats, I would suggest PM'ing KMarks since he built one with those and came up with a good modification for proper strength and function.
This is very impressive with the sheer size (look closely at the 1/6 Pilot sitting on the Strake) and after a very thorough inspection of the airframe, formers, plates and servo boxes...FEJ has done a fantastic job with their processes and I look forward to this build.

Hi Jeteye
reading your comments about the possible performance with the turbine you mentioned is enough you are right. Comment jeteye:The 1/6th F-18 will not be underpowered with the Mammoth
But if you ever have seen the B300F in operation you will change your comment quickly.
Kind regards

Well I tell you I have flown my f16 a few times now and it flies like a dream lands like a trainer
People seem to be impressed with. I know I am
is the F-18 made of the new material?

With the max thrust limit in the U.S. I'm pleased with what I have.

RE: Fly Eagle F-18 1:6
Hi guys.
I have recently just finished building my 1/6 super Hornet ( old version about 16 months old now) and was hoping that someone could tell me what centre of gravity and ended up using on this particular plane as a nice stable setup.
Either with or Without fuel ! any info is good
The manual says 220mm BUT I'm not taking that is not 100% correct as they always seem to be different.
I'm running two Merlin 110 turbines giving me about 22 - 23 kg of thrust with straight pipes so the efficiency should be quite nice compared to one big engine with a split pipe.
I owned the fly Eagle 1/7 super Hornet before but never really had much success with that one as it weighed about 25 kg dry.
This much bigger 1/6 version with twin turbine is only weighs 26 kg dry so I'm pretty certain it can fly okay compared to the other one.
But just generally looking for feedback from anyone who has had experience with flying this particular model. Any control through rates for positions anything would be greatly appreciated.
Have also got hydraulic retracts in this and they work exceptionally well. i have splayed the gear out another 40 mm wider on the rears so it has a wider track on the ground

RE: Fly Eagle F-18 1:6
Thank you very much for the link i had a good read. i will post there as well encase anyone else is subscribed to that thread as well.
what is really freaking me out though at the moment is WHAT IS THE REAL CG.
manufacture says 220 mm your saying 180mm ( from experience)
99% of the time i would go with people who say its different after testing vs some random Chinese measurement BUT
Your talking about the slats version F18 being potentially different to the standard wing version i have.
i would have thought that both airframes would have the same CG based on the physical shape of the plan being identical BUT perhaps they are different i don't know.
a change of 40 mm in CG would be 1kg + of led so its not something i want to guess to much on! has anyone else flown this monster 1/6 and have any info on CG findings that can help me confirm Tassos findings.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ONE thing i keep looking at is the two pics below. 1/7 170mm 1/6 220 mm the physical size difference would suggest that the smaller 1/7 wing having 170 mm and a 1/6 having 220mm would sound about right considering the physically larger wing ?
@ 180 mm the CG is only 10mm further back than the 1/7 plane that is 420 mm shorter in length .......... the percentage difference just don't add up to me !
