thanks mate, Even though doing cockpits makes me feel like a sad anorak Airfix modeller I still spent all day on it and it still looks like my 4 year old did it[&o]

20k[:-] did I miss something? Could you not turn your ample shop into an ample prototyping facility for that coin? Incredible!

No, a Powerbox has much more going on, signal boosting on every output and voltage regulation for Rx and Servos. This unit takes the load from the Rx board and gives the Rx a constant 5v only. Most Powerbox units have the switches built in etc.

Anurag,
yes - it works like a powerbox including the signal boost - just the battery voltage gets not limited !

As well as regulating the RX voltage the Powerjack also amplifies the servo signals. And as Dave says theres no servo power regulator but no one seems to regulate A123 cells anyway.

Haven't managed to get a decent day to test it yet. Hopefully this Monday is the weather is kind. Metal cased 8711 servos used but I would put the JR brushless in if I were building it today.

Congrats on the first flights mate. It looks great, although it looks as if the wheels need cleaning, they are a bit black
can't wait to see this as low as your classic was last year

Jason,
Looks nice! Being a bigger airframe does it feel as fast as the smaller bandits?
Oh, and I can thoroughly recommend....
Cheers,
Mark

Mark & Birdman
No it does not feel as fast as a Super Bandit but it obviously is by the distance it covers. The Ultra is much smoother and even when flown hard it somehow still looks smooth it's also more responsive to rudder but does seem to have some coupling which I'll play with on it's next outing. It's the first AMT I have owned and I have to say it's outstanding.

the wheels are AWESOME!

RE: Ultra bandit almost ready for test flight.
By the way, this is my first plane with A123 cells and I'm really impressed! I have fitted two 2s 2300 packs going through two Powerbox Smart switches with no regulators (as recommended by people on here) Bennie at AMT Netherlands also changed the ECU setting to run on a 4 cell A123 pack. As most of you in the US know they are a really reliable, robust battery which lends itself to our power requirements very well. Unfortunately, over here in the UK they are not promoted by either of the two main retailers in our hobby so they tend to be little used [&o]
Also the big nipple UAT really works! Even with the Olympus at full power you can hardly see the bottle suck in. This will always be a must on a thirsty engine for me.

Avoiding the double entendre (clearly not!) did you just fit new nipples or just drill out the existing ones?

I made new nipples and replaced the Festo fitting with a larger brass one. All fittings have a 4mm I.D same as the tube.
Here it is next to a normal UAT
