Default Electra Turbine Info

I am the very early stages of considering a BVM Electra Turbine. I have seen quite a bit of info about the EVF version but almost nothing about the turbine version. How does the Electra compare with the Bandit? What sort of performance should I expect from Wren 54?

Does anyone have any video of one flying on turbine power?

I have one flying with a P-60. It feels very much like a bandit. I actually prefer that it is far more simple to rig than a bandit.
Not massively fast with a stock P-60 set up but light. Lighter and more power than my bandit arf that I flew with a P-60. Certainly the better choice over the bandit arf for that size turbine. If you are using a stock 54 then I would not expect blistering performance. A wren 70 would be the ideal choice for this airframe. Sorry no video as, although I might get some in the next few weeks as I plan to get it down and have a fly of it again soon.

I flew BVM's Electra turbine at FJ in 2009 and like Ali said it's not super fast, but the perfect "mini Bandit" option for P60/MW54. BV's had a P60 which was enough for a decent size rolling loop. An MW 54 is supposed to have slightly more go than a P60, so I would expect good performance. Certainly the Electra handles like the B-ARF I fly.
I have an Electra kit and turbine conversion in stock that I have been intending to build for over a year!

Wing fixing is much easier than the Bandit, so field assy is quicker.

Looks good, Ali.

What gear/struts do you have on it? Could you PM me an approximate GoFly price when you get a chance?

It is a great looking plane.
I had a special set if prolynx ( gear and struts ) made up for me to fit this model as I wanted to fly it from grass allot. I have also supplied these with other Electra's I have sold so no problem to get some more.
Did you want the kit built Electra or an ARTF version?

ok leave it with me, I am back in the office monday, or maybe tomorrow after flying I will crunch some numbers and give you a price. Did you want standard gear or a trailing link set up?
Also I have a Spektrum Scheme in stock, if you could live with that scheme then I could offer you the best price on that one.
regards Al
