Default Turbine pipe question

Just curious to know how the arrangement of the exhaust pipe is in relation to the turbine. Is the pipe actually attached to the turbine or does it sit back a bit from the exhaust.
This is assuming the turbine is inside a fuselage.
Thanks in advance for the input everyone!
Myles

Default Turbine pipe question

The pipe sits back a bit to allow bypass air to be sucked in the front of the thrust tube. An article in RCJI, about half a year ago, showed that, in the particular installation studied, the nominal longitudinal gap between thrust tube front and turbine rear was, I believe, .25".

Hi Myles, Mark

Mark is correct. It's about a quarter inch. Myles. e-mail me your snail mail address and I'll send you a copy of the article.
