More jobs complete, nose doors only needed a little work to fit this well...good job CARF.
Nose hatch needs a "shut" fitting, the glass strip provided is wide enough to blend it against the nose and draw a line to match the hatch outline. Cut and fit!
Keep the lower "shut" to a minimum as the curvature will kick out the bottom edge if it's too wide.

Great work Dave, Looking forward to seeing this one finished. I just placed my order with Andy in the US last night for the ARF, landing gear, and fuel tank. looks like a late May delivery. Found a good home for my Booster 160+. One question, what length air cylinders are being used for the gear doors? Take care and all the best.

Nose hatch done, the shape and hinging allows just one hatch catch and a pin. Slide the hatch catch, pop out the back edge, slide the bottom edge of the hatch back to disengage the pin...and open the hatch.
To close, pin in, slide catch back and lock

Been slow recently, but nose doors have been hooked up and tested, elevator and rudder wires run ready for the tube to go in (it has to been assembled in the fuse)

ENT, great. I test flew one from another manufacturer in that Colour back in 2007
Long! I'm using 1800mm leads as shown on the elevator, fuse length is 2300mm 91"

Dave, Could you give me the size of the box? Maybe in the region of CARF 35% aerobat boxes? (These just barely fit into my car...) I ordered my CT-114 yesterday from Mr. Geir Flesche with gear, tanks and pneumatic kit. No idea when I will receive mine, could be a long wait. Planning on using G-Booster 160+.
Great thread, by the way!
Cheers,
Tero

The box it's shipped in? It's 2350mm x 750mm, 500mm.
Thanks
I'm on a mission to finish it as the CARF meeting starts a week tomorrow and we will be travelling there a week today...
Dave
The first del arrives in Europe mid May, but that's completely sold and more of the next batch, so I guess early June.

Had some time today in the office with us being so busy
Cockpit set as supplied
Nose door is mounted on this plate and bonded to the nose structure
Nose curve makes hinging interesting, so three hinges are the easy limit, the doors are carbon so nice and stiff, but the curve could bow the doors if you are a pilot who needs to "collect" yourself before getting the aeroplane clean, hence it's going fast. Simple plywood strip cut to the nose profile adds this much rigidity and it's only tacked!

With so little time before the CARF meeting, I divorced the wife, bribed the kids and worked all weekend on the tutor...
Strakes ready to fit, window cutout (this has been left for strength during handling, airsystem in, turbine installed-with smoke injector, radio stuff installed...getting there
Wings and tail were fitted for the first time today, such is my CARF confidence, perfect fit. Gear tested...perfect first time using Tx timer sequencing like the Hawk.

Best fitting CARF canopy glass...ever. Easy install. Filling for tank and smoke tank. I didn't see the point in taking the tubes all the way forward, so there is one in each inlet.

Final steps doing the hinged canopy and stickers. Static the Behotec gear works at 40 psi, so no problem with pressure on this one

I agree, but 1/4 scale jet pilots are hard to find. CARF supply some ABS "Robots" that could be scaled up with work. For now I have a 1/4 scale bust that will fly it from the RHS!
After the weekend test flight I will add scale to the large cockpit...and finish the smoke system hook up. Out of time as we load tomorrow for the long drive to Kehl.

Looks really good Dave. Hoping for a flight report after the CARF meet in Germany.
Me and the Scandinavian rep almost was going to go there, but over 3200 km was a little too much to drive for a weekend. Maybe next year
I got the gear, valves, cylinders, fuel- and smoke tank in a little box from Germany today, so maybe the Tutor isn't too far away...[8D]
