Default Hawker Hunter kit

Who out their in jetland that doesn't think the Hawker Hunter wasn't the most sexy looking aircraft designed? Who makes a kit about 1/9th-1/10th scale that an average Joe can buy from across the pond? Nobody. What if someone were to make an affordable kit say in 1/9th-1/10 scale. 67"fuse length, 50" wingspan. You you put a EDF, DF Turbine in it. Scale with panel lines and fly like the real thing. Anyway I have one of the last GT Models Hawker Hunter. Has all panel lines and details from the real aircraft molded in the fuse. Have made the plugs to make this the ultimate Hawker Hunter. Right size for everyone. You could put a DF,EDF or turbine. Plus this plane flies awesome. Plane would be easy to build. Suppose I have some kit manufactures to want to build the kit and it would be made in the US. I need a show of hands on how many people would want to buy a kit like this? This is getting close to maybe getting an awesome Hawker Hunter of this size out to the masses. Tell me your thoughts so these people will want to kit this plane. If they kit the plane I get the first one so nanny nanny poo poo.

I dunno...it looks old and boring to me. I would not put one together (as if I build!) if they gave me one for free. It just does not do a thing to stir my interest.

Nanny Nanny Poo Poo OR Nanny Nanny Boo Boo.

Some serious arguments possible here. I can see I will have to watch this thread closely.

Or is it just cabin fever setting in?

That looks like about 1/8 scale. You are right, EDF or Turbine could work well.
I like Hunters too! Keep us posted.

Just got the phone. With Bruce. So you nanny nanny poo types this kit will be built from Century Jet. So. Save your money because you will have one awesome Hawker Hunter in about 1/8th scale. Panel lines and all. But if you want to spend 3,000 plus for an Airworld or 1,000 plus for the Mick Reeves Hunter then go ahead. I made most of all the parts and Bruce is going to produce the kit. Got to love the Hunter. Email Bruce and way to go dude we have been waiting for this plane for a long time. Guarantee you this will be the best plane you will ever fly/buy/build money can buy. Bar none. Email Century Jet and Bruce and show your support cause it is coming.

Do you have any photos of the plug/ what you have done so far?

From what I remember, the GT Models Huinter was 'cartoon scale' at best.

Would be interested if it is an accurate rendition, but I'm watching anxiously for the Rimpax/ Mick Reeves composite one.

Now, for a 1/7th scale version, the molds and tooling for the Westbury Hunter (1/7th scale) are for sale by Andy Sheldon (Jetline Models) in the UK. I was tempted, but it was too much just to make one model. If you have a manufacturer who's interested, it sounded a steal. To me, that was an ideal size, and accurate too.

I'd be interested as well; hope the intake area is not too big/too small for a 110mm-120mm fan like the Stumax or EVF.
FSA for the Stumax is 74sq/cm and a DS-94 120mm is 94sq/cm; 85-90%FSA intake is a nice number that won't hurt performance.
CenturyJet huh? I hope they maybe examine a BVM Electra to see how a light EDF layup needs to be done.

The neat thing about this plane is that it has a generous wing so no matter what size you build it should have the ability to take off and land nicely off of grass and landing speeds should be docile. If you look up some of the colors it came in, you could have fun with decorating it as well...

No idea I am afraid, all I know is that if Mick Reeves is involved it will be a very scale and well built airframe.

I have pics of the original kit. The GT Models one. Have pics of the plugs and fuse formers. These are what is going to Bruce and Century. This will be a total upgrade to what the kit use to be. Anyone want pics send me a PM or email me.

Wow, you're really pumping this up. Pictures/videos are worth a thousand words. Can you share some pictures of the prototype and some facts with regards to size, weight, constuction, gear, flying abilities, etc etc. I'm sure you will gain a more interested audience with such evidence to back up the premature (?) promotion? Until then I remain very skeptical.
