Default JetCat P20 is getting closer

Gentlemen...The JetCat P20...

It is hoped the prototype will be flown at FJ this next weekend. The work to shink all the on board parts is still in progress, so the latest info is that release is not expect till late June 2010.
More information as and when its available.

Looks really nice but I'm still not sure what this turbine is for. Is it going to be significantly cheaper than a P-80SE and targeting the entry level market?<div>

any chance of putting a ruler next to the motor as a means to decipher the dimensions?

It is for people, like myself, who want to build smaller turbine models.

Arnaud

Its for any small EDF type (90mm fan) model and a whole new range that will come with this baby. Putting it on a foamie is crazy in my mind, but each to their own. The Lambert has sold many more than people thought, the P20 will bring it to a new level. In the UK it's going to be huge, we already have more than ten back ordered and will no doubt have more before its released. Patience is the main thing as it won't be ready till it is!

regards

Dave

No fixed price, but near P80SE price. Way too early to know exactly...

A cute little turbine, If I have to I'll design a plane around it myself!

Mine will go into my AW Cougar (EDF) which is fitted with Spring Air 602's. Flew well with #1 Lambert, so should be great with the P20
Andy at JC has one in a HT Mirage and there are lots of possible models like this.
I have a customer waiting with a Schubeler Hawk...perfect!

I've got a guy planning a twin now, certainly the AW 262 with two would be good, we have one in the UK with 2 x Lamberts which is OK and someone is now looking at the Aeronaut Raffale!

It did fly at FJ, several times. All I can say is wow! That thing is impressive! I have some video of it. It will take me some time to pull it down, but I will post it when I do.

Some real information on the P20+ (as I call it)
The thrust is 24N at this time, fuel use around 100ml/minute full power.
Amazingly the P20 can be used gas or Kero start, Markus says it works amazingly well on kero start, just looks odd with the huge burner sticking out the side!!
They have developed a micro fuel pump and are working on the smaller ECU unit.

Many things have been learnt during the design of this baby, many facts very interesting-but obviously secret to the general public! But be sure lots of work has been done over the last two years of developement.

I guess it's just dawning on them just how popular this will be...

Jorden

Great short video gives people an impression of sound, it was Andy Meier from JetCat with the HT modellbau Mirage.
