Hi Guys,

For the Ramtec fan, what are the other engines, (less powerful than OS .91) can I use? Also, where on the web is the best and cheapest place where I can purchase the fan and the engine?

thank you!!!!

Saw on Tower Hobbies sale items that the OS 91 VR DF is on sale for $280, that's is about the cheapest I have seen it.

I was just wondering why you are interested in an engine with less power than the O.S. .91?

What airframe are you planning on putting a Ramtec into? Keep in mind the inlet area, small inlet areas (A4, F-16 etc) like the Dynamax better while large inlets work better with the Ramtec.

as already mentioned the os 91 is a better solution. the ramtec was designed with that motor in mind so backing down on power may not be the best solution. If you can still find one, a k&b 82 was a decent motor and in a dynamax fan would give respectable performance, while being rather fuel efficient. pipes and parts might be hard to come by for this motor these days.

if applicable let your inlet size determine the fan you need. someone may correct me but I seem to remember 17 sq. inches is the threshold for using a ramtec over a dynamax. if you are over go ramtec, under go dynamax.

You would want to consider all this in your selection. Also check the RCU classifieds, there are NIB components over there at a fraction of the mfgr pricing.

I have a used K&B 82 if you are interested in one, I got it a few months ago, never run it but it looks in good condition no pipe sorry, I was going to use it in a F-16 but like the other guys say why not go with the most powerful engine you can get.

good luck.
