End of the Rookie??

Seems like Comp ARF are looking to withdraw the Rookie. All the recent paint schemes are already showing as unavailable in my area and they only have this one left.
I wonder how long before it's gone for good.

From the news section of the website
and from the 'last edition' page
It's a little contradictory and I don't know how long the 'last edition' will be on sale for but the other colours are already showing as unavailable.
Get the Last Edition Rookie before it's too late!
There have been a lot of improvements before we released our "New Rookie" and now we are arrived at the point where we can't improve anything anymore. We will stop the production of all Rookie kits very soon and only stay in business with one very special "Last Edition" Scheme.
Don't miss it and get one of the very last Rookies before it's too late!

Now that is a shame, good job I have a spare airfame sitting in its box, and no I don't want to sell it, they fly too well.
especially with full vectored thrust and canards.

It's little wonder sales are falling off. They charge almost as much for shipping as their jets cost. They need to wise up & charge reasonable rates.

Hi all,
Yea i saw the post on News page at CARF a few days ago, Wondered why they would stop production, so asked my rep in Australia, he recons sales slow, he has 10 rookies in his stock now, and thinks its just the end of the line...
I Wonder why they dont just keep them in small numbers, and produce a batch when demand is there...
I love the rookie, sold my one, and have to have another, so will order a Final Edition... Love the colours to....
Jeremy.

I just was at the comp arf meeting in Germany yesterday. They had a rookie kit on display and had a sign hanging on it saying it was the last production run. I think it's done.
They had everything comp arf makes flying except the Rookie. The 3D Eurosport was insane! Really liked the new Tudor as well.
Move on boys, time for new stuff.

If you want an old styl Rookie, buy the Graupner Harpoon and leave off the Canards, the Harpoon did not have the nose extended when they did that to the Rookie to incorporate the Canards and still looks retro.

A few years ago my buddy gave me his damaged rookie and had inquired whether or not I could leave the canards off of it since I thought it looked much better without them. No one was ever able to give me an answer. So it has just sat in my basement.

Tumbler, i have flown the rookie with the canards off (only 1 flight) flies faster, but needed more elevator throw during landing.

I have some spare canopys/frames and plan to make a sleeker one like Ebroens did with his super hot spot.
I have 2 rookieIIs and 1 harpoon., guess I'll start trying to collect more.
(IMO) Rookies are the best bang for the buck. They led the way in 3d jets.
They are easy and inexpensive to build.
They can be tuff to land smoothly sometimes but it is usually due to something you do wrong.
If your c/g is off or you land to slow or to fast they can get goofy quick.
I land them a little fast with anti-skid on = perfect every time.
If I run out of rookies I'll quit flying.
