We are only three months away from our 3rd annual Cincinnati Jets event. The event will be held at the same location, Hook Field Airport in Middletown, Ohio on July 23rd-25th.
We would like to invite everyone to attend this fantastic event which is co-hosted with one of the nicest airport managers you will ever meet. We will be flying from the same location as last year with plenty of room for RV's. We will have limited electric for the RV's and also water hookups.
The event will be hosted by Bob Belluomini (CD and flight line director for the event), Terry Jacobs, Mike Molnar, my wife Sandy, myself and several other local fliers. We are all jet pilots who have been attending jet events for 10 years so we know how to do it right. For those who missed last year, we had a pig roast and lots of great prizes for the pilots.
This year we will be hosting several of the judges from the WJM who will be visiting and holding a meeting in the area and we will be helping with some demo flights. I am sure they would enjoy meeting everyone.
We are planning on having open flying on Thursday July 22nd this year after we get setup so everyone can plan on arriving early on Thursday and flying sometime after noon probably.
We are trying to make the event a little better every year. We had around 45 pilots the first and second year and are planning on seeing even more this year. This is a facility that will accommodate a very large number of pilots and we hope to see a greater number of pilots this year.
Hotel rooms have been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express with special rates, same as last year. Tell them you need rates for the "Thunder in the Sky" Cincinnati Jets event. If you have any questions please ask. We look forward to seeing everyone again this year. We would like vendors to attend as well.

Ron, last year it was sort of a first come basis but we had enough hookups for everyone. It is just 110 power but is enough to power the lights, etc. The guys were very happy to have it though!!
We will try to pull some more power from the hangers this year if I know additional RV's will be coming.

There have been a couple of questions about the hotel room pricing at the Holiday Inn for this years event. This is the same hotel we have used for the past two events but someone at the hotel failed to reserve the rooms as I asked them to do over two months ago.
We stopped at the hotel today and managed to get it corrected so that there are 25 rooms reserved at a rate of $72.00. The rooms are reserved under the event name which is "Thunder in the Sky". Make sure you mention the event using this name.
If you have already reserved a room please call them back to get the special rate. If you have any issues with the rate just ask for Roberta Horn. She is the general manager at the hotel.

We're less than a week away from Cincinnati Jets, Thunder in the Sky
Ron Ballard will be hosting a Thursday night "man grilled" dinner. Friday night, we'll be serving a chicken dinner (grilled by none other than Ron) with corn on the cob and watermelon, and Saturday night, we'll have pork with lots of sides. Afterwards, the awards presentation and pilots drawings.
So far, we've received some great donations:
ElectroDynamics, Great Planes, Altecare, JetCat, Cermark and Troy Built Models
And there are more on the way!
We're looking forward to a great weekend with lots of flying and just having a good time.
See you there,
Gary and Sandy Jefferson
