Default F5 paint schemes

Hi guys

Anyone know of some interesting F5 schemes? I need it to be good for orientation. I was thinking this Canadian example with perhaps red tip tanks...Not keen on the camo versions as I struggle to see these fast moving jets at the best of times.

Cheers, Alex

This is why I like the white scheme, it will be white on a Dark grey sky here in the UK

Still looking, maybe an arctic camo scheme would look good? It's going to be finished by one of the best painters/builders in the business so I really want to make use of this opportunity to pick a stunning scheme doesn't necessarily have to be scale, I'll keep looking for some inspiration. I'd never considered an F5 before but the model is growing on me, Its about 100 inch's long so at least I'll be able to see the fuselage

Cheers, Alex

Thanks for everyone's help, it's really appreciated!

After saying I wasn't keen on the camo schemes I've decided to go with this with a few differences. The desert Camo scheme but the fin will be like the the grey version and I'll do the drop tank in the same style as the fin (I think) with some nice missiles on the wing tips. I'll post some pictures once it comes back from the painter in a few months.

Never thought I'd deviate from scale, I must have been working with a bad influence recently

Cheers, Alex

Alex, if you change your mind using camo scheme you just might like the Canadian scheme. Not seen very often on RC jets. I guess I'm a bit partial

FWIW picture #3 in post #7 is actually a T-38 owned by a civilian (note N number). Story I heard years ago, dont know if its true, is that this jet had a landing mishap at a Navy base. Aircraft was towed to the back lot some where on Base and was accidently put on the auction block when the Navy was having a base clearing garage sale. I hear that this is the only civilian owned military jet in th US. Just what I heard,

Hi All,

I spent ages deciding in a colour scheme for my F5, In the end i settled for a two tone grey austrian scheme, it was suppose to be the swiss two tone with the markings but i buggered up the swiss roundel!!!! and i decided to do it austrian! a triangel and a red circle easy!
anyways i did the whole rub down and spray and weathering in two days! i used aerosols from b&q once dried flatted back weathered and glossed, nearly forgot used my missus make up kit to do the weathering!! the looks i got!

test flight month end

Here's my favorite.....Jed Jacobsen uses this scheme on his F-5.

"Composite Fighter Squadron 111 (VFC-111) Sundowners is a US Navy Reserve adversary squadron based at Naval Air Station Key West, Florida".

Hi George, You've got enough jets

Mines going to be painted later in the year. The waiting list for this particular painter/builder is long but for good reason

Yes, really like that aggressor scheme. Haven't decided exactly which one I'm going for but it will be very similar.

Cheers, Alex
