It pains me to start this thread. I love all of my Hitec servos (except this one)
Had a brand new HS-7955TG servo in March. I have a building service, so this is not the only 7955 I have purchased (25+ this year).
It smoked off as soon as it was hooked up to power. Sent it in to Hitec in March, returned with a new motor, amplifier.
Sat in the shop until early May. Installed it in a 29% Edge rudder. Had huge amounts of dead band. Went through the hoops again and sent it back to Hitec. Was told they would just send me a new one. Got it back 15 days later.
Just changed the amplifier AGAIN. Call and talked to Hitec and explained what they had promised and that it was the second time the amplifier was changed and I was concerned about putting the servo in an airplane I did not want to loose. Reply, Just run it a bit and see what happens. I am NOT happy! What do I do? Let them crap on me or take a drive to Poway and confront them in person.

Its a shame that the Hitec servo's are becomming a problem, they used to be the most reliable of all at the price, I have just tried to use a bunch of 7955's with the Futaba HS series of Rx's they become all jittery and don't work as smooth as you would think they should, so put them inbetween an Orbit power Jack in case that was the problem and just the same responce, changed the Rx back to normal mode and all was fine, seems the new Hitec Digitals don't like the HS version of Futaba Rx's.
I would confront them and let them know that a lot of people are not happy with the new lower spec versions, Oh yes 5955's work fine on the Futaba HS Rx's.

I think I will let this post run a bit, print it all out, and take a trip down South. I live in Bakersfield, Ca and it won't be much of a trip to the service center. I believe the reason we get dumped on by some manufactures, is that they can just blow us off on the phone or e-mail and it is to much of a hassle to confront them in person. I will certainly mention anyone else's problems if you wish to send me the details.

I had trouble with a new 7955TG as well. Sent it back to Hitec and it came back with a note that said, ''bad motor.''

Same here. Had one that had to be sent back. You could easily move it around neutral without any resistance from the servo. It was replaced with a new one.

I had jittering and erratic operation on my 7955's too. I got rid of them. I see all kinds of guys reporting problems with the 7950's.
I really liked the 5955's and I used them almost exclusively for years, but they don't make the 5955's anymore. I have switched over to Futaba servos now. I still use JR servos on certain things too.
I still have some 5955's that I'm using, but I won't be buying anything else from Hitec. I just don't trust them anymore.
