Default Rabbit Kerostart

Yesterday I got myself a new JetCentral Rabbit. Never having worked on JetCentral before, I read the manual, hooked everything up, primed the lines, and initiated my first start without propane.
Just like that the Rabbit came alive and spooled up very smooth, first time out...very cool !
A big thanks to Chuck (JC- canada) and Eric for delivering an impressive engine !

You are going to love the Rabbit. Just got in from 3 more flights on my Rabbit powered Flash and still have permagrin! My Rabbit is propane start and I can't immagine anything starting any simpler and smooter but I bet you will feel the same way about your Kero start. You are going to love the spool up time and how it Just sips fuel. Oh yea, the sound of the turbine is pretty cool too!

My Tucano is now Kero Start with the new Bee II Kero Turbo-Prop motor. It's really cool. No Power Max...no glow plugs...it just...starts.

It's all charged up and I'm heading to the field tomorrow with a new Eagle Tree Pro I just installed. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of info I get from the 'Tree.

Yes. The kero-start conversion is simply a plumbing change along with a software change in the ECU. The Rabbit that ships with kero-start also got a new diffuser and burner can that make the already quick spool-time even faster yet. I received my new Rabbit less than two weeks before the kero-start version was announced. Bummer, 'cause now I'll have to wait til the 25hr service to have it upgraded. Wish Eric had told me to wait. Check with Eric for the price of the upgrade. Waiting til the 25hr service will save you some labor cost, since the service involves a complete teardown of the turbine anyway. Actually, I don't mind propane start a bit, I just want the upgrade for the faster spool-up. Either way, the Rabbit is one helluva good little turbine and I can't wait to buy another.

Hi Scott
Your Rabbit can be converted to kero start when you send your engine in for it's 25 hr. inspection.
you will just pay for parts and no labour at the inspection time for the upgrade to karo start.
I think the cost is around $150.00, check with Eric.

Chuck, do you think there a way to trade a close to be new (40min run time) super bee for the super bee II with kero-start?

I thought the internal kero plug was going to made available for all Rabbit owners, as well as the FOD screen. [&:]

I also have a Rabbit in my reaction. I have about a dozen flights on it now without issue. Compared to the other turbine of the same size that I own there is no comparison in the spool up time. There is also no comparison when comparing the after sale service and attitude between the two turbine reps. Kudos to Jet Central and Eric. For those who are not aware of the other turbine I own I refer you here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_96..._1/key_/tm.htm
