Default Feibao F-15E issues

I have finally received my Feibao F-15E bought a few month back on RCU and will start the build process soon. Presume this kit is from the first batch that was produced by FB and therefore would like to hear about issues and mods that should be done to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Have heard that landing gear is not strong and would not last more than 10 flights and also that servo mounts are weak.

Any input in this respect or any othe issue related to this jet would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Should i consider that the jet is perfect and do not need any mods or improvements. This is a big investment and would like to do things the proper way.

Appreciate help from anyone who has owned/flown this jet.
Best regards,

Ditch the gear - I used Behotec C-50 with Behotec struts/wheels/brakes. Throw away the thrust tube(s) - throw hard. Sand and paint the plane again - the original paint just chips away. Lots of other small stuff like screws in places you can't reach - tighten them somehow anyway...

I lost my twin due to thrust tube failure - the inner tube seam was broken and the pipe collapsed shutting BOTH turbines...about 50th flight...

Liked the way it flew but esp. the original gear is total cr*p ie. piece of sh*t - I got zero flights with those []

Janne S,

Well that's definitely bad news. i have seen photos of your F-15, beleive it was the Japanese scheme. Actually, photos and video taken had a lot to do with the decision to go ahead with this project....

I feel like i have done a big mistake buying this kit after all....
I have 2 thrust tubes on order from FB as the one received with the kit is for single engine. How come did both thrust tubes collapse at the same time shutting off both turbines??

Is there any way that gear could be fixed??

Appreciate all the help you can provide from your terrible experience!!

Regards,
Dany

Yes it was the Japanese scheme.

Only one tube collapsed but that turbine threw lots of flames all around both turbines - so the healthy one sucked flames shutting that one down too [&o] At the time plane was quite far away so didn't catch it immediately and just got too slow and down it went.

I know that mr Patton fixed the original gear before flying the plane - you better ask him directly how.

I suggest asking some well known pipe manufacturer to replace those FB ones - I would for sure! Small investment for piece of mind...
